Favorite mystery writers of Angela Thirkell readers are many. Generous with their praise, they also recommended books by their favorites. Two authors were given Mystery writer "Hall of Fame" status - Susan Wittig Albert and Katherine Hall Page. And an "Outstanding First Mystery Award", a book by Phil Huston. His Alarm Cry quotes Angela Thirkell
speaking of "the absorbing snobbery of birds." It concerns bird watching and
centers around that seemingly harmless activity.
As these authors are known to many of us as members of the Angela Thirkell Society, they were excluded from the voting process.
